Choices

So she calls after years of silence
She wants to meet
Would I dare to tell her
A street party awaits me
Or I was waiting for her
All those years past
I agree calmly with
A cold yes.

She calls me after years of avoidance
She wants to give us
A chance
A trial to see if love blossoms
A Father’s Day come and go passes by
Without my daughter
I keep calm with
A warm tear glossing my eye.

Choices we make
Choices we avoid
Choices with no choice
So she calls after years and I don’t hang up!
Why?!
