Pond frog

A summer pond muddy
In perfect jumps a frog crosses
A shrinking life.

A fallen leaf
Remains a reminder of dying
Spring has gone.

Earth stretches
Bare park falls asleep
Squirrel scans.

Frog tries to escape
Falls in a net, today’s dish
Fallen leafs fill pond
Dry pond cries it’s end
Remains the squirrel scared.
