Aphrodite leaves the battlefield

After devouring her latest lover

Not the last by any means

But even Goddess of love

Needs her rest

And beauty sleep.

“Goddesses do not sleep”

Interrupted a rude man in the

Temple of shadows and faces.

Aphrodite sought a cool shadow

Sought aphrodisiac thoughts

Temple stood in her way

Long forlorn shadow lured her in the

Temple, shadows and faces and a lonely

Man greeted her into the hollow of

Bare walls.

He sits

He meditates

He forgets

He notices her

He invites her to a communion

“Dalliance”, she asks

“Serious”, he replies

Explaining the tantric ways of

Dissolving into Gods.

She laughs.

Love doesn’t need communions or


Love needs a presence out of the


Living through the eyes of a


Are you a beloved?
