Celerity

Celerity

The word of the day

Celerity

The word of the ages

Celerity

Is today’s word

With celerity

The unseen visitor makes

It’s calls on houses

Unsuspecting

Innocents

Rides in

Its waves

With celerity

The unseen visitor gulps

The breath of life slow

Unrelenting

Unforgiving

Administering pain

Steady

With celerity

It spreads

But the human soul

Refuses to succumb

With celerity

Another day brings

Anew sun

To burn the unseen

Into memory gone.

With celerity

We live

But it may be time

To slow and reflect

On the child within

The miracle that lives.

I hear celerity

Is out of fashion

In days

Anew.
