Itinerant labor

A whirlpool has taken the child
Another ship sinks in the pacific
A soul is lost to itinerant labor
A heartless mother, could it be?
An absent father, could it be?
Is hunger or desire the cause
Unseen in day light but harbor
Inside wild souls wonder
The beaches, open today but
No takers, wondering souls wait
Another chance to catch the whirlpool.
